See What’s in Store for Sonic Hacking Contest 2019 with the Official Trailer

Sonic in Freedom Planet, E-102 Gamma in Sonic Adventure 2, two Shadows working together and new zones to explore. You bet that this year’s Sonic Hacking Contest is right around the corner! redhotsonic has compiled together footage from this year’s entries detailing whats all in store.

Below are more details about the event that will take place starting on Monday 2nd of December to Sunday the 8th. Monday Links: Obligatory Dreamcast Anniversary Post Edition

PAX Prime 2013 has come and gone. On the last day, however, we had a special surprise for our favorite Brand Manager at SEGA, Aaron Webber, aka RubyEclipse, to celebrate the Western release of “Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F.” I think he liked it.

Sega Seeks Western facebook ‘Likes’ and ‘Comments’ for Hatsune Miku

Way back at last year’s E3, Sega has been testing the waters for releasing games based on the ever popular vocaloid from Japan, Hatsune Miku. At the showfloor they were demoing a quickly put together English build of the Playstation Vita version of Hatsune Miku – Project Diva – f for the press as well as releasing Miku Flick for iOS for English speakers to garner some support. Turns out that once again they’re now asking for more support, this time from the general public on their facebook page. If successful, Sega will seek to release the Playstation 3 version of Hatsune Miku – Project Diva – F instead of the Playstation Vita, possibly due to struggling sales of the handheld. (Also see if you can spot the difference in the name of both versions of the game.) If you, and your friends, want to show your support, be sure to hit up their facebook page to throw your ‘Likes’ and ‘Comments’ their way.

It may not be much longer now, considering that Miku was also one of the top requested characters for DLC characters for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, several tours have been made in the US and otherwise to raise awareness and…oh my. Their next tour is on March 11th in Austin, Texas. That’s pretty close to home. I wouldn’t be creepy if I went to go check it out for myself would it?

UPDATE: Turns out it’s just their presence at the South By Southwest Convention happening in Austin, and the 11th is their specialized panel demonstrating the tech behind the vocaloid software. Thanks to Shadix for pointing that out. Anybody got $1350 to spare for a ticket?

E3 2012: Hatsune Miku Sneaks into E3

Sega’s no-shows at E3 such as Anarchy Reigns, the Valkyria Chronicles series and Phantasy Star Online 2 sure has fans a bit weary of what the publisher intends to bring from it’s library in Japan. However, of all games to be shown off at E3, and so quietly is the Playstation Vita version of Project Diva f. Or as it’s been renamed to at E3, Hatsune Miku.

You know, Hatsune Miku, the vocaloid singer whose quite popular in Japan. However, nothing has been officially announced, in fact, no publisher details have been officially revealed. But it is implied that Sega will post photos of people playing the demo at E3 on their blogs, and they are the official publishers of the Project Diva series in Japan, so their involvement should come as no surprise. It’s more than you can say for something like the Sakura Wars series.

For those at the Los Angeles convention, it is currently being shown off at Sony’s E3 booth, and to those who are interested in a US release are encouraged to bug Sega about it, liberally.

As for me? There sure are some catchy songs, but much like My Little Pony fans rub me the wrong way to the point that I don’t want to show interest in the show, the same could be said for Hatsune Miku. Still an interesting and commemorable move by Sega.
