Sonic Dash Officially Announced for iOS

DashiOS

SEGA has officially announced Sonic Dash for iOS. According to their press release the game will be a 3D endless runner, probably in the style of Temple Run and the like. The stage nobody at SEGA can seemingly get enough of, Seaside Hill, will be present in this game. When Pocket Gamer France reported on the game last Thursday they said that the scenery will change as you get further, so it could be that more than one zone will be represented. There will also be leaderboards that show your friends’ best times.

Pocket Gamer France also reported that the game will be released this Thursday, March 7th. It’s not unusual for an iOS game to be released shortly after its announcement. For example, Hardlight’s previous game Sonic Jump was released two weeks after it’s announcement. Sonic Dash will be released on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Seems promising enough. Although I can’t say Seaside Hill still has its luster.

I don’t think anything from Sonic Heroes ever had luster, character textures excluded.

Just like the green eyes… people are commenting on his MOUTH.

The levels change as you progress from what i’ve read. Also, Android or no biz.

    WHY SEASIDE HILL?!?!
God, that stage had more appearances than Green Hill itself! Well i’m hoping it will contain stages off of Sonic Heroes.

To be fair, Seaside hill is essentially a 3D Green Hill if you take out the palace parts, so I’m assuming this is just a way to appeal to both the classic and current fans… AGAIN.

Just hope that’s not the only place we run through in this game, despite similar levels like Temple Run only taking place in… a temple.

It really took THIS long for them to finally sell Sonic DS???

Selling Sonic DS would mean selling a game in which all you do is ruin the touch screen by rubbing it as fast as you can. 😛

They already sold Sonic DS before, it’s called “Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games DS” XD

Oh right, some people don’t have widescreen monitors. Changed the header image to something that will hopefully not go over it.

The hell is wrong with his wrists? Seriously, I tried bending my wrists like he is doing in the picture, but found it to be uncomfortable.

Other than that, this game looks promising.

Hardlight needs to improve their 3d modeling because I expect no less. This better out do sonic rush, and if it does it must be at least be on par with sonic rush adventure. this type of gameplay has already been done in popular games and I’m not about to settle.
