Sonic Boom 2012: The One Where Retro Plays a Social Experiment

While we waited in line to get into Sonic Boom, there came a point between the talks of Rainbow Gems, Vanilla the Rabbit, and talking with Ruby Eclipse about the future of Sonic where a fiendish idea was conceived.

“If a small group of people belted out the first few lines of ‘Live and Learn‘, how many people would join in the song?”

This is the result.

Well, nice try anyway! I mean, there were pitch problems, people were unclear on the exact lyrics (and Live & Learn is easy to learn compared to Open Your Heart), and there seemed to be people amidst the crowd who didn’t know the tempo. But then again, they’re excited and anxious, they’re expected to not do their best at an impromptu thing like that.
So… I guess this is cool that all those fans chimed in and sang along. Makes me inadvertently feel a little left out, honestly. (I live on the East Coast, and lack time/funds to attend an event like that.) In any event, great job, Sonic fans! Stay cool. (8
