Online Sonic Merchandise Store Opens Up For Europe

With popular video game characters usually come merchandise, and Sonic is no exception. In fact, he has so much merchandise there might as well be a store dedicated to it. It seems like SEGA had this idea, as they have launched an official online store with Sonic figurines, posters, DVDs and more. So if you were looking for a site where you can buy a DVD box-set of the complete series of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog or a poster with classic Sonic, you found it. That is, if you live in Europe, the store doesn’t ship anywhere else at the moment, sorry Americans. The site uses a reward point system, so if you buy a product you’ll get a certain amount of points which you can use to pay part of a different product.

The collector’s edition I can understand (sorta)… The Europe-exclusive statue codes not so much (despite them all getting leaked anyway)…
But THIS?!?! Does SEGA HATE America now or something?! Does it hate Japan as well?! I mean, they’re really preventing people from giving them cash, so in a buisness standpoint this really isn’t that smart… (correct me if I’m wrong)

Sonic was made in Japan yet Europe gets a Sonic store. How does that make sense??

Because Sonic has always been bigger in the west.

Besides, Sonic used to have a physical store in Japan. It doesn’t exist anymore, but it used to.

It doesn’t make sense. Everybody else (in meaning of countries) have all the fun, while all the Americans have are the games. Don’t get me wrong, all the older games are great, but I can’t get anything else other than games in America, because for some reason SEGA’s obsessed with letting everyone else have the fun. Do they just not like America when it comes to things other than video games? I really don’t get it. -_-

Sonic fans in America haven’t been getting much love lately. Booooo.

If I live in United States and order something will I get it?

Well, blame the majority of Americans that are into the hard-core, gory, FPS’s and such. This may not be the case, but most Americans don’t seem to be into Sonic like they were back in the 90’s. STH 06 killed a vast majority of the public’s interest in these games and it doesn’t seem to be at the level that Europeans love the blue hedgehog. That’s why all we got was a DLC card when everyone else got something way more fancier. Besides, didn’t we get Sonic Boom in America? ….. Yeah, not really enough, but oh well. I’ll just stick with my 10 inch Classic Sonic….. :3

I think it’s pretty cool that you can actually buy these online through this Sonic merch now. I’m not liking the fact that I can’t personally buy anything off there though. (yet, I dunno)

I also really dislike this website layout that they’ve been using for the Official Sonic website. Compared to the Japanese website that has been around for years now. . . . this is pretty bland, not gonna’ lie.

To everyone complaining because the store is European, PayPal is your friend.

I believe they can ship worldwide because when you go to sign up, you can choose to ship mostly anywhere in the world. But I’m not sure if you can pay in anything other than pounds…
