Sega Finalizes Generations 3DS Launch Date

Sega confirmed on their blog today that the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations is not in limbo of being shoved into next year and is scheduled to be out by the end of November.

The tale of two Sonics will be hitting U.S. shores in its downsized form on Nov. 22, with Europeans getting the game shortly after on Nov. 25, somewhat lagging behind its HD big brother launching at the start of the month.

Mmph. I was actually kinda hoping for a major delay for more development time. Looks like we’ll be getting another crappy handheld Sonic…I blame Dimps.

I never found the handheld games bad, Sonic Advance 3 is in my top 5 Sonic games. However, I can see the hate for the boostful DS titles. This game seems more toward the DS games I suppose, so I see your distain there too…

Well, hopefully, the game isn’t going to be too bad. I mean, aside from the no inclusion of any Game Gear titles, GBA titles, and the gameplay mechanics to a certain extent, I’d still buy the game. I’m only buying it for the soundtrack and level selections though. Also, I need to fill my 3DS collection one way or the other. This, Super Mario 3D Land, and Mario Kart 7 will hopefully fill up my game cards to about 8…… Also,  releasing this game the week of Thanksgiving may actually hinder sales a bit considering certain stores will be doing that whole Black Friday shindig and will lower prices considerably.

Dimps the butt monkey of the Sonic franchise. 🙂 Not altogether incorrect IMO. They are so obsessed with SPEEEEED and gimmicks. It can be overkill

well…i hope they use this last month to fix any last glitches, and add whatever they can that will make this better. i suggest more time to make modern sonic’s stages so that they’ll be longer, funner, and more challenging. and add some challenge to classic sonic’s stages.

I really don’t see those so called bad physics in the 3DS version, if anything I’m far more interested in it than the console version “that damn dull and linear Unleashed gameplay >:(” anyway I didn’t really try it so I can’t judge it, maybe the physics are bad, as long as it plays like Sonic Colors DS I’m good!

Yeah, i’ve never understood the Dimps hate. As long as it’s as good as Sonic Colours DS, I’m good about paying for it.

As you know people who have played 3ds demo which includes green hill, mushroom hill, and speed highway knows that its a major boost fest with absolutely no platforming for modern just jumping when you need to I’ve seen it. Classic 3ds while good physics copy-paste level lay-out with 3-D graphics nothing new. If you’ve seen anything past green hill on console versions is that its not as linear as you think. Plus people who judge from one level or one instance of something they hate in anything usually miss out on good things.
