Real Talk: You’re In Our Thoughts, Japan

Unless you’re a hermit who has not heard the latest news, Japan got rocked pretty badly by a magnitude 8.9 earthquake and a devastating tsunami.

While we may not have many active Japanese users around here, it’s no secret that both Sonic Retro and Sega Retro are both centric around products from the nation and a lot of the user base follows some aspect of the culture. Our hearts and prayers are with the people of Japan that they can overcome this tragedy.

We hope those of you with friends over there find that they’re okay.

That means that sonic’s birthday is in trouble, 3ds may be phostponed, game developement may take a while. But Japan is still important to the world as everything else. I will pray for Japan and all it’s people, and I hope they are okay.

3rd won’t be porsponed as it’s been released in japan allready(I feel sorry for the guys that lost thair new 3ds’) and the uk already has all the stock we need. And Tokyo is where all the games work takes place and there was no significant damage there from what I hear(at least nintendo didnt loose anyone/thing).

Japanese are disciplined and tough. I’m sure they will pull through this. Good luck to them, though.

I’d hope so, as well. Actually, I was going to comment first on your spelling error of Sega (sounds like Iizuka’s planning something…)

I heard that the creator of Mega Man is missing; otherwise all video game related people in Japan are all right.

Listen to this: remember the Sonic 4 Birthday Contest? The winners decided to go to Japan for the prize last week, and they were there during the earthquake! Luckily, they are alive and well.

I saw footage of the devastation over the weekend. It was just simply awful. Then again, Japan’s been through worst. I’m praying for the missing and for Japan. 🙂

Indeed, they have been through the worst. They copped it worst out of the Axis during WWII as well, just to name one way to expand on concept.
