Having raised over $1800 for Child’s Play back in August, members of The Sonic Center, along with some speedrunners from Speed Demos Archive and SpeedRunsLive, are again running about 50 hours of Sonic Team games. Proceeds from this year’s marathon will benefit the American Cancer Society, and your donations can determine what you see, such as Chaos Emerald collection, fishing for Froggy, or stage selection in Sonic Shuffle.
Join in for both speedruns and casual play of all of your favourite and least-favourite games, playthroughs of other Sonic Team IPs such as NiGHTS and Burning Rangers, as well the ever-popular Tails Skypatrol, as audience play for Puyo Pop and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for Xbox 360, and- wait, what do you mean you don’t know what Puyo Pop is? We didn’t work on Sega Retro for you to ignore it!

It’s been awhile since we last did a live stream. Watch us play through a random assortment of Sega Dreamcast games and maybe we’ll go hunt for some sailors while we’re at it. We’ll be starting the show later today at 10PM GMT. (Or 6PM EST if you prefer.) The stream is over, however you should be able to watch the archived version right here. Or click play on the video above.

It’s New Year’s Eve. Not exactly a whole lot going on in terms of video games, Sega or Sonic the Hedgehog even. But hey, the world hasn’t ended yet! This year certainly has been full of surprises for everyone, including us here at Sonic & Sega Retro. We hope to see you in the new year. In the meantime, there’s still plenty to go around in terms of news and whats happening.

Due to low friend requests accepted, Retro staff’s scheduling and among several other issues, we’ll be postponing the Community Day Stream for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. While the numbers are kind of low, make no mistake about it, those of you who sent in friend requests, you guys rock. Seriously. We’ll check back in January to let you know when we’ll reschedule the stream. Especially those of you who are just getting the game for the holidays. If you haven’t already, send a friend request to VidyaRetro on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 or Wii U if you want in on the action.
In the meantime though, we’ll be doing a stream with who we’ve got showcasing a number of Sega Saturn games. Including a number of Sega’s lesser known mascots, some real oddities and more. We’ll be kicking things off around 4PM Central, an hour earlier than originally planned. Hope to see you there for the usual whimsy, banter and of course, the games.
It’s out there.

We thank all who are willing to participate in our inaugural Retro Community Day Stream. Couldn’t make this happen without you guys.
We’ll be playing the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 version of Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing. Even if you aren’t participating in the race, we invite everyone to join in our stream along with the Retro crew for live commentary on Twitch TV. To those who are racing, game invites will be sent out to all players. We will do our best to let everyone in at least once. After two races, we will close out a room and start a new one to let others in. We encourage others to try and let others in so that everyone gets a chance. But keep in mind, it’s first come and first serve. Make sure the game is running during the designated times listed below.
Because we can only stream one version of the game at a time, we will start off with the Xbox 360 version then move onto the Playstation 3 version. Check the schedule and keep an eye on the stream to keep up with all the racing action.
All times relate to Central Time.
