Britfag Sonic by Jay TownsendWell, not quite. British member DAGarden has completed and released his hack Sonic the Hedgehog - Westside Island, which is a palette and layout hack.

    “Is that all?”

Well, if you asked yourself that you’d be missing out on something awesome, because there are some truly inspired moments of insane genius in these layouts, and enough interesting alternate routes to justify repeated plays through. If you’re sick of Newbie Template Hacks, get this hack!

Up C Down C Left C Right C ABC+Start is a Kent instrumental rock band playing lush soundscapes throughout their songs. The band’s name comes from Sonic the Hedgehog’s debug code: Up C Down C Left Right A+Start. I guess no one told them they didn’t have to hit B and C.

Check out their official site and Myspace. The band is playing throughout England this summer, so if you’re a Brit, be sure to give them a listen.

British gaming mag DC:UK decided to forgo the Happy Meal-style of tie-ins for the release of Sonic Adventure, opting instead for Happy Hour. Phil Westoby, manager of The Hush, came up with cocktails for each of the main characters of the game. Details on drinks such as “The Knuckles Duster” and “Formula 102″ can be seen on the scan thumbnails, shown at right.

Tails’ drink is described as being both “sugary sweet” and looking like “a cloudy urine sample.” Ironically enough, it’s also the one of the only drinks without the word “fruity” used to describe it.
