With the holiday season already upon us, it’s not surprising that with it comes the usual holiday tunes: “Jingle Bells”, “Silent Night” and “Walking in a Winter Wonderland”, to name a few. Joining these are the untold number of remixes done by several artists over the years, which can cause the familiar tunes to become a fair bit overplayed and contrived. It’s now time for something new and fresh.
Sonic Retro member Shadix has decided to compile a new holiday album called, “Christmas Chaos”, featuring winter-y versions of familiar Sonic tunes. The project already has plenty of musicians and remixers, as well as the promise of some surprise special guest artists.
“The Christmas Chaos project is rather simple,” says project leader Shadix. “It’s an attempt to make a community\contributory Christmas album that we can all listen to for years to come, giving the community it’s[sic] own unique way of celebrating this universal holiday (even if you aren’t religious Christmas is still a huge part of our culture that has transcended it’s original meaning into a sort of super-holiday in itself.). The project is to be released completely free of charge.”
