Earlier today, American based anime and asian films DVD and blu-ray company Discotek Media announced on Facebook details on their upcoming “Sonic X” DVD. First revealed back in April of 2015, Discotek Media plans to release the first two seasons of the “Sonic X” English dub to DVD in a 52 episode collection with a release date of September 27th, 2016. Season 3, containing the remaining 26 episodes, will be released in another collection at a later date. I really love the SEGA Mega Drive inspired cover art, which has been confirmed to carry over to the menus.

It should be noted that there are no plans at this time for the original Japanese version of the show.

So wait, is it a Redub? or just the original 4Kids dub. Because I wouldn’t mind giving it a look if it’s the former.

Just the 4Kids dub. Supposedly there’s a chance that the Japanese version with English subs might get a western release if the dub sells well.

Separating the good portion of Sonic X with the bad portion of Sonic X. Good idea. /opinion

I agree. Season 1 and 2 were silly, but at least reveled in their silliness. Season 3 felt like a silly fanfiction that took itself completely seriously.

An Sonic Anime that nearly no one likes is going to be put on DVD and Blu-Ray…

    I’m gettin’ that shit.

      DVD only

Just to give everyone wondering an idea, I don’t believe this is a redub or any sort of uncensoring. Discotek just got the distribution rights, and it’s about time someone did, too. This series is too hard to get by itself.

No kidding. The box set of the first 13 episodes alone goes for around $70 on the aftermarket.

I’m digging the megadrive-era inspired box art design.
