Sonic Lost World No Longer Wii U Exclusive, Coming to PC on November 2nd

Lost World PC
The once Wii U exclusive Sonic Lost World is coming to PC through Steam. It’ll be released on November 2nd and you’ll get the excellent Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed if you pre-purchase it. The NiGHTS themed DLC will be included, though it seems doubtful that we’ll be getting the Nintendo-themed DLC as well. Not until it’s inevitably modded in anyway.
You can pre-purchase the game on Steam here for $29.99/£19.99/€27.99. The Steam description touts that it’ll have new features like 60 FPS gameplay (except it already was 60 FPS on Wii U… oops), HD resolution support, full gamepad and keyboard support, and all of the Steam features like achievements and cloud saving.
Really the most exciting potential feature is the one that isn’t listed: mods. Like with Sonic Generations, there’s the potential for various mods like character model swaps or improved graphics. So hopefully people will be making a decent amount of those.
Also Gene wanted me to plug his review of the original Wii U version, so you can read that here.

Update: The price that was mentioned in the article used to be incorrect, and Sonic community manager RubyEclipse has since clarified what the actual pricing is supposed to be on our forums. This article has been changed to reflect that.

With no announcements other than a Steam catalog post. Rather unusual.

I’m personally wondering if the Yoshi and Zelda levels/assets are still in the coding.

I bought this day one for Wii U and my buyer’s remorse is still as strong as it was back in 2013.

    Not available in Japan… >_<

That’s surprising, seeing how the Steam page says that the game has full Japanese language support.

ithink mos of the ones who bought the PC version, like myself, know about this, what we are expecting is what the modders will do with it, the game itself had lots of possibilities, is just that sonic team didn’t knew how to implement them well

I want to know why the press release says $24.99 USD but the Steam page says $29.99 USD. This will give me nightmares for weeks not knowing.

It seems like they messed up the price in Europe and the US. It costs £20 in the UK, and the press release lists the price as €22.99/$24.99 in Europe and US respectively.

I wonder if they’ll do Colours at some point? Colours at 60fps in PC-high resolutions would be nice.

I mean, there’s always the option of using Dolphin because I’m pretty sure that it can run games with higher framerate and resolution than normal. DarkSpinesSonic has footage of it at least, but you probably need a hardcore computer for it.

I meant officially, I know it’s doable with Dolphin. =P

Probably one of the best news this month

That’s the thing though, wasn’t the game only signed for a console exclusivity with Nintendo, and last time I checked the PC is not a console.

Maybe Nintendo only has these Sonic games as an exclusive for 2yrs? Which means we’ll get to play Sonic Boom on PC in 2016/2017! Gross.

I doubt that they’ll bother porting Sonic Boom to PC.

Amazing. I can’t believe this is happening. Definitely going to give us a lot, unless the small modding community is already a sign.
