Ken Balough Hints Sonic 4: Episode II Teasers Incoming Ken Balough Consejos de Sonic 4: Episode II Enigmas Entrante

Never one from backing away talking up the fanbase, Sega’s own Sonic Digital Brand Manager Ken Balough has been busy chatting with the folks over on Sega’s Sonic forums. Usually, this isn’t enough to draw enough attention–after all, if it was the case, we’d be writing up every time Sega’s own Aaron “Ruby Eclipse” Webber shows up on here in his quest to be the Fastest Sega Employee on Sonic Generations speed runs.

But when Sonic 4: Episode II teases begin to fly, you can bet people will be listening.

Talking to fans in a post made Nov. 30, Balough confirmed once more that after Sonic CD launches some time this month, he will be more at liberty to talk Episode II.

As for when I can talk about Ep 2? ahaha Its like making an announcement for an announcement. Most people are right – after CD launches, I’ll be able to dive and talk about Episode II. 🙂 In fact I’ll come on the forums and give you a hint of where you’ll get the first reveal.

He further assured fans earlier today that a hint was incoming:

Once CD launches, I can drop a brief hint on what you guys want to know 🙂

Excited to see what Episode II holds in store? With how divisive Episode I was amongst the fans, who are now riding on a high wave from Sonic Generations and Sonic CD, let’s see if Episode II will continue the upward momentum.

Is it really too much to ask, for Sega to give a release date for Sonic CD. what’s the big mystery?

  • Reply

^ Hype really. They’re just trying to milk their new found approval as long as they can so they wait for the right opportunity to spring a surprise they know everyone will love. Get a loada THIS!

I am curious to see what changes they have made for episode II, and whether or not it’s change enough. Because let’s face it, episode I was a good idea, but wasn’t executed in a very good way.

I’m praying that SEGA won’t screw this one up… Sonic Generations made me so happy… they were actually doing something I wanted–that the fans wanted. Now, Sonic CD’s coming out and stuff, and that sounds promising. But Sonic 4 Ep. 1 sucked so badly, I’m just hoping this one want and won’t blow it for Sonic again.

Upward momentum? Bugger that! Proper momentum and I’ll be stoked!

This man loves to announce announcements. The place we get the first reveal will probably have an announcement trailer when this actually happens.

Are there actual physics? When does CD come out?

There is no release date because it’s not coming out ever, it was nothing but a brand awareness campaign for Sonic 4 “see where the Sonic 4 saga began” and to bring old fans into the fold by associating a Chinese sweatshop of a game with one of the most unique and creative games in the series.

In the case it does come out I’m sure they are saving the announcement of the release date because marketing thinking of the best way to tie it into Sonic 4.

If the Sonic 4 II announcement trailer is the CD sprite hitting the future panel and wrapping into the classic Generations model and rolling down a incline to increase speed I’ll be peased.

The one million dollar question now is: “Why should we buy it?”. Episode I was horrible!! If Sega want me to buy this game, them they should convice me to. Although Generations was good, classic Sonic stages need a little more refinement if we consider the game’s physics. But even then, compared to Episode I, Sonic Generations was like a dream come true. Maybe that’s the perfect time to give classic sonic a chance to live a new adventure on a new game. And please, Sega, make new levels, don’t reuse the old ones! 🙂

i wonder if this means S4ep2 will be teased at the end of CD…

And so it begins, prepare for another fan-rage =p

Seriously though as I really liked Episode 1, and if Generations and Colors were anything to go by, I can’t help but feel hyped over episode 2, let’s just hope it’ll come to WiiWare!

Of course not. I don’t think it’d be right for a 1993 game to be modified more than it already is by throwing in a tease.

But we do truly need some actual screens or footage of Episode 2.

Hey, who wants to bet that Ep. 2 will be a rehash of Sonic CD stages with the excuse that “Sonic travels back in time and relives the events of Sonic CD blah blah blah” while (if we’re lucky) using the Generations 3DS engine and Classic Sonic model?

Now with even broken physics :D’

Since Episode II is linked to Sonic CD, I guess that the stage names will be alliterate and that there will be Sonic CD style Special Stages. There might be even a CD quality soundtrack instead of Episode I’s synthesised music. That would make YouTuber SolarisParadox happy since he doesn’t like Episode I’s music sounding like “dying cats”.

I’m up for seeing a Musical Museum Zone in Episode II; It could be a mixture of Sonic Advance 2’s Music Plant and NiGHTS into Dreams…’s Soft Museum.

so whats the HUGE secret here we know that sonic CD is going to come out here soon what im waiting to hear is that HA HA here s ep 2 and we the buyers are dumb since they rehased the cd game which looks nice so far but who knows they can always nerf it up here and make it suck

@sonictopfanNintendo said that they aren’t putting new stuff for the wii, so that the 3ds can sell more

I can’t see it being good at all unless it uses the Retro Engine. That would be the perfect way to make a “true” Sonic 4.

Prepare yourselves for… MOAR REHASH MUHAHAHAHAHAHA

Hopefully Dimps either doesn’t make the engine for Episode II, or they fix the gravity problems.

Man, I’m from Argentina and dislike so much the Spanish version of the site, I’d rather read it in English!
About S4E2… Sega, PLEASE don’t dissapoint us!!

  • Reply

interviews have shown sega have no shame in the sonic 4 physics and don’t think they’re a problem. Bottom line, episode 2 will be just as poor.

This game can suck as bad it wants as long as it brings back Knuckles as a playable character. Omg please bring him back Sega or Dimps!

i hope they expamd the game, i know it’s eposodic but still it wouldn’t hurt to add more to it, i liked Episode 1 at first but after a while i started getting bored of it as i kept playing, and for goodness sake bring back Tails and Knuckles, i want to play as Knuckles where he’s fast again
