First Look At Some Of Sonic Generations’ Achievements

Achievements. The little things that pop up with a nice little sound effect that let you know you may or may not have done something really cool in a game and are awarded with Gamerscore or a Trophy. They’re also notorious for leaking some of the story elements of a game just from descriptions alone, causing some headaches for developers when the lists leak out a wee bit early.

It goes without saying that the 360 and PS3 versions of Generations were going to be packing these in some form, giving teasing glimpses at what challenges Sega is chucking at its players. Thanks to Xbox360Achievements, we now have a small peek at some of these and a surprise in that most of the achievements are completely hidden from viewing.

Well, almost completely. Above are the icons for the 27 secret achievements the game is packing, giving little glimpses to certain currently unrevealed bosses and stages. It even packs a small teaser or two regarding the status of two fan-favorite super powered golden hedgehogs.

Perfect Chaos in HD is going to look gorgeous as hell! As for the inclusion of that Time Eater. I swear it’s going to be someone we haven’t seen in the past few years. Imagine if Mighty was the Time Eater. That would be a twist.

Looks like a mashup of Unleashed, Sonic 4 and Sonic 06 Achievements.

I just hope these Challenge Acts aren’t similar to Eggmanland time trials, oh my god.

Those time trials for Eggmanland were piss easy.

Could it be…the return of that tornado which is carrying a car? 😮 also, what’s that thing under Metal Sonic?

  • Reply

What the hell is that thing on the right side of the 30 cars? It’s kinda creepy……
And beside that one, it looks like that tornados carrying a..lava!

Yay! Achievements! Life’s best friend! Also, yay! Leaks! Life’s second best friend: That picture leaks a lot more than just chievos, It leaks character playability. Not only was Silver an unannouced character before this, but it gives you the hint you may be able to play as the, what you may call, “crash-the-party” characters. Nice job keeping a secret, SEGA- N.O.T.

I’m certain the achievements for them are for beating the Hard Mode versions of all the bosses. Notice how every boss has one.

    Crazy Taxi? O___o

isn’t that last one with the lava crisis city…? the top one looks like canyons to me

      No that looks like Spagonia.

Why are these hidden from view on the xbox360 achievement site? Yet SonicRetro has all the secret achievements pictures..

Look at the game’s overview on their website.

I wouldnt post a comment without doing that lol. I mean on that site, I can’t see some achievements like the time eater or the orange wisp. But I can see Silver for example.

Funny thing is, Super Sonic has been known about for a while. jacktheinfinite101 hacked the demo and found their Stage Complete animations with models. His video got removed, but some random unknown guy saved it and reuploaded it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pryNUGLLA4&feature=channel_video_title Also, I hope to god that achievement to the left of the 30 Taxis achievement isn’t Perfect Chaos. What the fuck is that.

It’s not Perfect Chaos, he’s next to Metal Sonic. I was curious what that was too and then I looked around and realized that all the icons that weren’t the 9 stages or the 6 bosses had something to do with the levels (like the Clock Tower for instance), so these are either related to the missions or just random achievements tacked on to the levels, after looking at all of them I realized what it is: It’s the giant sea turtles from Seaside Hill (Ocean Palace in this case but you get the idea), you know the ones that carried the giant blocks on their backs? One of the missions was called “Sea turtle in the sky”.

Based on the icons, here’s what I think:
GHZ: Something to do with the springs
Chemical Plant: Something to do with running on the pink water
Sky Sanctuary: Something to do with cloud jumping
Speed Highway: something to do with grinding
City Escape: Destroy 30 cars (or maybe 30 taxis specifically)
Seaside Hill: something do do with the giant turtles
Crisis City: something to do with the tornado
Rooftop Run: Something to do with the clock tower
Planet Wisp: Something to do with the color powers (or at least Rocket).

Perfect Chaos is on the right side of Metal Sonic.

The Time Eater, double Super Sonic’s, Chaos, n the Crisis City tornado carrying the car peak my interest the most. I want 2 know who Time Eater is! What if it were Classic Sonic the whole time? That would be a twist.

  • Reply

only 3 stages of classical sonic of Genesis?
    I want Lava Reef Zone!!!

    • Reply

Whited out means it’s locked. It gains color when unlocked.

  • Reply

Knowing Sega, the 30 taxis achevement (flip over 30 taxis?) will probably be called Crazy Taxi.

  • Reply

WTF!? Crisis City never happened since Sonic Next Gen never happened.

    • Reply

Never count anything out when it comes to a game where the premise is time and space being ripped asunder… again.

      • Reply

Hmmm you have a point there

        • Reply

          But no Mephiles. 🙁

This is just a crazy fan theory but please hear me out. If u notice there r 7 bosses. Maybe the method of gathering the Emeralds is beating the bosses. The console version has no Special Stage so what cooler way 2 get the Emeralds than that? Plus the 2 Sonic’s have 3 bosses each I believe. Classic Sonic vs Metal Sonic, Giant Egg Robot, n possibly Silver. While Modern Sonic possibly vs Perfect Chaos, Egg Dragoon, n Shadow (which we know) and “Sonic twins” vs Time Eater. It makes sense 2 me. And its plausible.

    • Reply

Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the console version has the Heroes special stages and the 3DS version has the Sonic 2 special stages.

      • Reply

3DS has Heroes Special Stages, Console has none (so far, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.)

    • Reply

Reminds me of Sonic Chronicles in the space level, and each race of alien has a Chaos Emerald. But for this game, wouldn’t Chaos need all the Emeralds to turn Perfect?

I really hope you dont have to collect all the dang Red Rings in this game to unlock them….

  • Reply

Damn i’m confused. The first icon looks like Tropical resort? Or am I seeing things? And what place is the second icon supposed to be?
Perfect Chaos looks a lil’ bit weird.

The icon next to Rooftop Run is… uhh.. What the heck, why are these shots so unclear? D: Ahh well, guess i’ll find out when I get my copy. :/
