Generations Info: 3DS, PC Versions Removed; Cream Appearance Teased

We reported earlier that Sega may have let the cat out of the bag with their 2011 Financial Report that Sonic Generations was en route to the 3DS and some system labeled “PC”. The same graphic (above) was changed in a re-released version of the documents to the press, removing the 3DS and PC entries for Sonic Generations, but changing nothing else.

While this could mean that it was an honest typo on Sega’s part, it’s not been unusual for games to slip out this way, such as Namco Bandai’s accidental confirmation of a PS3 port for Tales of Vesperia back in 2008.

With Nintendo Power still teasing some sort of reveal “fans young and old don’t want to miss” in their next issue and Nintendo so far only confirmed to get Wii and 3DS entries of Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, there’s no secret that something is stirring in the realm of Nintendo. As for what, exactly, will likely remain a secret until the company’s E3 keynote next month.

One thing for certain, however, looks to be that Cream The Rabbit will be one of the friend characters Sonic and… Sonic… will need to save from the rigors of time-space, as far as her Japanese seiyuu Sayaka Aoki said on her blog.

Via Google Translate:

We have been recording a new Sonic game!

Cute as ever grinded in Cream ♪

Chocolate ice cream with Itadai until after recording,
Kanamaru’s behind me is (Sonic’s), and
Be able to talk to you a long time,
Recording was fun!

All means for your interest ~ ♪

Get the fury out of your systems. Good? Great.

It’s likely, like the other characters, her role will remain small, but look at this way: her existence has somewhat hinted at something more–a game that had Cream in it may wind up being a featured level, short of being stuck at the hip with Amy or Blaze. Let the speculation continue!

First, hope is destroyed when the NDS/PC version is removed.
Then, fear is risen when Cream is confirmed to appear.
… Well, not alarming as it sounds… yet.

Good thing I have an Xbox 360 but Cream!? Really Cream!? Shit just put knuckles, tails, mighty, and the chaotixs in the game period.

It could be akin to her apperances in Sonic Adventure DX – cameos at various points in the game.

what’s wrong with Cream? also how in the world is Mighty better with his annoying voice?

      • Reply

        Cream is a good character

      • Reply

I wasn’t aware that Mighty had a voice.

    I don’t get what was Cream’s crime.

She has always brought good gameplay with her. Advance 2, 3, and Heroes.
    She hasn’t wielded guns.
    She hasn’t turned into a Were-rabbit
    She hasn’t ridden mech walkers.
    She hasn’t wielded swords.
    She hasn’t uncurled.
    She hasn’t fished.
    She hasn’t treasure hunted.

    What’s so bad about Cream?

      her voice.
Otherwise, I, too, have absolutely no problem with Cream.

She’s like five years old. What do you expect her to sound like?

        • Reply

Something remotely like a five-year-old, rather than a woman on helium.

        • Reply

          Like she’s 5 years old.

for the record Princess Peach sounds a lot like Cream and people didn’t complain about her “surprisingly”…

    • Reply

She also doesn’t steal the spotlight from Sonic. She’s pretty much Amy’s sidekick

    PC = Project Cafe.??

    • Reply

You could be right on that note, Project Café does sound like it could have been the “PC” part!
Although, for that reason the post would be changed once the official name of Project Café is revealed.

    • Reply

That’s been disproved a good amount of times. So no….

  • Reply

    Eh. I don’t mind.

    But guys…

    Cream IS great!

She isn’t a bad “friend” and often goes to the background without getting in the way.

I definitely hope to see it on PC, lol.

    I like Cream D:

And I like Blaze and Amy too. Its Silver I despise with all of my soul. (right next to Charmy’s squeaky 8-year old voice and “FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM”)

Wait a moment. I definitely was pointed to English version with PC and 3DS mentioned at Sega’s service. Where was I pointed there? You-know-where-so-not-going-to-tell-you.

So it’s not like it has been changed for English version. English version was actually changed.

    • Reply

I wasn’t able to find the original in English. But I’ll take your word for it. Thanks!

Well, seeing how virtua tennis is on the same “pc” as well, which is confirmed to be personal computer, hopefully….

    I like Cream.

Sonic fans: Let’s concentrate on gameplay.

      >Sonic fans

      HAHAHA but seriously what?

      • Reply

I fail to see why you find that funny.

        • Reply

Because Sonic fans only say shit like other characters shouldn’t be in the game, Sonic has green eyes, shit that is MINISCULE.

      • Reply

i dunno — i wouldn’t mind playing as Tails or Knuckles, or even Cream, as long as the gameplay stays the same. i don’t want to hunt for emeralds as Knuckles. i want to play as him in a standard platforming environment.

    Are they ok?!

Or maybe the post is just a metaphor involving cream the FOOD and the game instead involves Amy. That’s my guess, anyway.

      Since when is food voiced?

How do we know this has to do with Sonic Generations and not London Olympics?

    • Reply

Nintendo Power already did a preview of the game in this month’s issue. It’s unusual to see two previews for one game run back to back in issues.

      • Reply

        Talking about Cream.

  • Reply

Bah, I am dissapoint. I was greatly looking forward to playing a modded Sonic Generations on the PC.
Especially when there could’ve been a chance that someone modded it to have Classic Sonic running around abusing the boost system in Modern Sonic’s levels. Just imagine it for a second, hilarious.

    • Reply

Or they could go the Smash Bros route and have short fat modern Sonic.

      • Reply

That would just be bizzare…. I like it.

  • Reply

I can tolerate Cream. The only Sonic character I really dislike is Silver.

  • Reply

Nintendo’s secret is either Sonic 4 Episode 2 or a review of Sonic History for the anniversary!

  • Reply

I like how some people are taking this as a “The game’s not coming out on those systems” moment instead of an “Oh crap, we put up stuff we shouldn’t have put up yet” moment on Sega’s part. I seriously doubt this is confirmation that the game won’t appear on the 3DS/PC and more that it was a leak that it IS coming out on those systems.

    • Reply

You can’t say it’s confirmation they WILL come out on those systems either.

And I’m pretty sure that Cream thing is for M&S: London Olympics, not Generations. That would be silly.
