Sonic 20th Anniversary Figures: Sonic, Eggrobo, Others

TSS forumgoer SonnikuForever has grabbed some pictures from the Jazwares booth at the UK 2011 Toy Fair, showing off a new set of “Sonic Through Time” series of figures. Each of the figures in the series are representative of an era in Sonic history, from 1991 today. The above is a prototype of the “1991 Sonic” figure, and it looks pretty great, aside from the normal Jazwares SUPER JOINTS EVERYWHERE design.

Two other figure sets from the collection include a classic Eggman (er, “Dr. Ivo Robotnik”) design with two Eggrobos from the Sonic 3 & Knuckles era and Tails with what I’m insisting must be Dangerous Ball Tower (because clearly Jazwares loves obscure 8-bit game bosses.)  It could also possibly be a Sonic 4:Ep 2 badnik. Just saying. No announcement has been made yet as to when these figures will hit stores, but we’re guessing probably some time near the actual anniversary in June.

Scarred Sun, that is not Bead Worm/Dangerous Ball Tower, that’s Crawlton from Sonic Colors.

Then is that based on Dangerous Ball Tower?

No. It’s based on the Catakiller, or Sand Worm from the Classic Sonic games, depending on what game you referance. (Catakiller from sonic 1 and 3D Blast, Sand Worm from S&K)

Actually, that is the Sandworm enemy from Sonic Colors. The sandworm appeared in several acts of Asteroid Coaster, and i think is based off of the enemy from Sonic & Knuckles. If you don’t believe me, check out the Sonic Colors guidebook, that’s where I found it.

You are correct. It also technically is in the Aquarium Park act with the moving springs. I wonder why Tails is bundled with it… possibly an Episode 2 badnik? Oh, wait, that was alredy mentioned.
I wonder if the Sandworm figure doubles as a PEZ machine.

Oh yeah, i forgot about that part. It’s definitely possible, I mean motobug and buzzer were both in Sonic Colors and Sonic 4 Episode 1. And that would be awesome, have it shoot out PEZ candies at you lol

Actually, that badnik is Sandworm, from Sonic & Knuckles, which recently reappeared in Sonic Colors (which that set is from actually)
