The Sonic community never fails to be just as bad as you stereotypically imagine it. As a promotion for Sonic Team’s upcoming Sonic and the Black Knight, Sega of America is holding a fan art contest, with the best 20 being featured in the game.

The results are pretty much what you expect.

The Minus World has taken the brave step of managing to pick out the 20 worst drawings and have collected them for your mock–er, enjoyment. Hopefully we’ll get some decent fan art in the game, but who knows.

Goddamnit. Why is this on the front page?

This is why we can’t have nice things. This is why we can’t get better interviews and information out of the industry professionals, becasue they don’t want ot be associated with this shit. I know most of you are between 14-17, and think this sort of thing is funny because you were raised by people who needed to keep their legs closed, but it really just makes the community look bad. Real bad.

Right. Also note the half-dozen stories underneath this one that are about real issues and developments.

I’m not sure how the occasional joke post makes us all look bad.

I enjoyed reading it. How old are kids on the internet these days? Five?

Someone should send Sega some Classic Sonic Art (good fan-made art).

I entered some of my art in that contest. Lets hope at least one of my pieces makes it.
